The word “Formaldehyde” has been a big topic of discussion lately. The reason for this is due to the overwhelming demand for a keratin hair treatment, or keratin smoothing treatment. This very popular keratin treatment for hair is a fairly new hair straightening treatment that redefines unruly frizzy hair and turns it into soft, silky, & straight hair that is more manageable. The keratin treatment promises to make your hair beautiful, and claims to be chemical free, but some formulas have been found to contain formaldehyde. Formaldehyde has been found in numerous brands of Brazilian keratin treatments, and it is the main ingredient for making the hair frizz free and silky straight. The problem with many companies using formaldehyde to make their product work is that formaldehyde when turned into a gas can be dangerous. There are now many keratin hair straighteners that are formaldehyde free.
