| What is a sew in weave or hair weave?
A sew in weave or hair weave is a very general term used to describe an alteration of ones natural hair appearance by adding additional human hair or artificial hair to their natural hair.
What is the difference between a sew in weave and a hair weave?
There are many types of applications that are used in beauty salons to create sew in weaves, and hair weaves. To create a sew in weave additional human hair or synthetic hair is sewn onto someone’s natural hair by a braiding method. The hair is sectioned off to complete rows of braids known as cornrows. If done by a professional a high quality hair netting should be placed onto the cornrows to secure the braiding, the netting is sewn around the entire head leaving the perimeter of the hair free. Once the hair netting is secured onto the hair, the additional hair is sewn onto the netting, and finally cut and styled by a professional.
What is a Hair Weave
A hair weave and sew in weave are basically the same and the applications can be the same, however some hair weaves are not sewn in, but glued in with a hair bonding glue. The hair is not braided and a netting is not used, but the additional hair is glued close to the scalp for a very flat natural look. For the best results and to protect your hair. It is highly recommended to choose an application that is not harmful to your hair. Braiding is a better method, if done right.
Benefits of Sew in Weaves, and Hair Weaves
Some of the benefits of sew in weaves, and or hair weaves are that they can lengthen hair, can add volume and/or thickness, can make fine hair look fuller and healthy, and can give you an opportunity to try a new hair color without damaging your natural hair.
